ABOUT: Since thousands of years inhabitants of Taiwan have been using plants to provide food, medicine, utensils and furniture. For this piece I have chosen five important plants to be part of the instrumental collection: Taiwanese cinnamon, millet, rattan palm tree, elephant’s ear and taro root. With sustinere I would like to honor the practice of maintaining the cultivation traditions of these plants, even through precarious times. The inherited aim to live in a sustainable relation with the nature of Taiwan remains a vital foundation also for the present and the future.
