ABOUT: the musical material has developed from the improvisation sessions I did with the group during 2007 and 2008. The improvisations were evolving from the theme of movement, energy and friction and their contrasts of light and barely audible elements. The other important foundation of the piece is the traditional Vietnamese music ca tru, which is performed in trio setting with a singer/percussionist, an accompanying lutenist and a percussionist marking the phrase ends and occasionally commenting on the musical development. There are fast and light, suggestive rhythmical phrases and melody loops based on a six tone scale, which are slightly altered during the piece. The text of my chosen ca tru has influenced the sound world of the electronics and is a symbolic reverence to peace, with hopes of a constructive restoration of the country and a new and stronger community.
