Comment: I founded Curious Chamber Players in 2003, together with conductor Rei Munakata and percussionist Martin Strand, and this was the piece I composed for the premiere concert of the ensemble.

Program note:
I associate the timbre of the instruments in the original setting of CCP with dry sand at the seashore, which can suddenly change appearance and mood, depending on the forces of the sea.
